Eric G. Schmitt Mazen told the harrowing story of how 5-year-old boy died right in his hands, reports The Telegraph.
60-year-old double Santa Claus, told how he rushed to the hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee, after a desperate phone call from a nurse about a seriously ill boy.
He entered the intensive care unit of the hospital to see the boy who most wanted to see Santa, while his family was watching the meeting from behind the window.
They talked and Santa told the boy that he was his “lfom number one!”. Tragically, that was the last conversation the boy.
“He stood up, hugged me and asked one question: “Santa, can you help me?” – said Eric.
“I hugged him. Before I had time to say anything, he died. I just continued to hug him and hold him,” he added.
After that, he got out of the hospital as fast as he could, adding that he thought that he “could never play that role again.” He added that this is an incredibly vital and painful experience for him.
