German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande want the extension of sanctions against Russia over the situation in Ukraine.

“It will be important to extend sanctions against Russia, despite the fact that we would like more progress in the implementation of this process (Minsk agreements),” quoted Chancellor Agency Interfaks.

For his part, Hollande said that if the Minsk agreement will not be implemented, “sanctions will be extended”.

“I, like Merkel, are in favour of extending the sanctions,” – said the French President.

Recall, Hollande called conditions of cancellation of sanctions against Russia. Sanctions against Russia can be lifted only in case of full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
