The foreign Ministry commented on the return of Ukraine “Scythian gold”

Ukraine will continue to actively use the legal tools to protect their rights, and convinced of the Ukrainian diplomats.
The foreign Ministry of Ukraine has commended the decision of the Amsterdam regional court for the return to Ukraine of the Museum’s exhibits of the exhibition “Crimea – Golden island in the Black sea“, which are temporarily stored in the vaults of the Allard Pierson Museum after the exhibition.
This is stated on the MFA website.
“We believe this decision is lawful and logical confirmation of the position of the Netherlands and the international community not to recognize the illegal occupation and attempted annexation by the Russian Federation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol”, – said the Minister.
“The decision on the return of Scythian jewelry Ukraine, adopted in accordance with the provisions of the UNESCO Convention of 1970 on the measures prohibiting and preventing the illicit import, export and transfer of ownership of cultural property, is a Testament to the effectiveness of international law. Despite repeated and gross violations by the Russian Federation international legal principles and norms of international law remains a viable basis for relations between civilized Nations”, – said the Ukrainian diplomats.
The foreign Ministry assured that Ukraine will continue to actively use the legal tools to protect their rights and legitimate interests in international and foreign jurisdictions.

As previously reported, on the eve of the district court of Amsterdam decided to return to Ukraine, a collection of exhibits Crimean museums, known as “Scythian gold”. However, the museums in Russia-occupied Crimea will appeal against this decision, so the trial and judgment execution can be delayed for a long time.
The decision of the Dutch court was supported by the Director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums
