First Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s representative to the humanitarian working group of the Trilateral contact group on conflict settlement in the Donbass Irina Gerashchenko claims that it was threats from militants.
She stated this at a briefing in Kiev, transfers UNIAN.

According to her, the meeting in Minsk on 7 December, she “heard a blatant threat in his side”.
“Representatives of the ORDO told me the following – if you want your house burned down, it will make mom hostages”, – told Gerashchenko, adding that the threat was made “in the presence of representatives of the SBU, in the presence of Viktor Medvedchuk, and in the presence of our representatives the Ministry of foreign Affairs”.
Vice-speaker noted that the militants will not be able to intimidate representatives of the Ukrainian side in the Minsk group and reformat them.
Informed Gerashchenko said that Russia refused to participate in a Skype conference call for the return to Ukraine of 42 hostages, who are the militants in the East.
