The head of the regulator sees no threats for the currency market because of the nationalization of the Bank.

A significant outflow of deposits of the largest Ukrainian Bank “PrivatBank”, the decision on nationalization which took 18 December, the national Bank does not expect. Also it should not affect the stability of the hryvnia on the currency market.

On this day, December 19, during the morning press conference said the Chairman of the NBU Valery Gontareva.

“The national Bank is ready to help support liquidity “Privat”. We do not expect a significant outflow of deposits”, – said Gontareva.

She said that most of the deposits – term. That is just to withdraw money Ukrainians can’t. And therefore it will positively affect the stability of the financial institution.
