He called on the international community to maintain unity against the background of Russian aggression.
Vice-President Joe Biden hopes that the administration of President-elect Donald trump will support Ukraine.
He said this at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, UNIAN reports.

“I hope that the next administration will also support (Ukraine – ed.) and to be a partner, and you will continue to progress,” Biden said.
However, he noted that “no one else can do the hard work, in addition to the Ukrainian people.”
Biden added that from the Ukrainian government and society to the country’s needs was a higher priority than personal interests.
He also urged the international community to maintain unity against the background of Russian aggression.
“Ukraine, like every country in Europe has the right to determine their own path. Although Russia tries to deny that choice, the international community must continue to remain United against Russian aggression and force,” – said Biden.
Vice-President of the United States believes that international sanctions against the Russian Federation should continue to fulfil commitments under the Minsk agreements, and to return Ukraine annexed the Crimea.
“Together with our partners from the European Union and the “Big seven” we have made clear that sanctions must continue until Russia fully emphasize fully complied with its obligations under the Minsk agreements,” he said.
“Sanctions against Russia related to Crimea, should be maintained until Russia will not return it to Ukraine”, – said Biden.
During today’s meeting Prem courier-Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman promised the Vice-President of the US to go through reforms.
According to the White house, during his visit to Kiev Vice President intends to underline its support for Ukraine and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the United States and Ukraine. After Kiev Biden, who the post four days left, will go to economic forum in the Swiss Davos.
