“No evidence”: the Prosecutor’s office closed criminal proceedings concerning Kaskiv

The Prosecutor stressed that the established irregularities are insignificant for attraction it to criminal liability.
The Kyiv Prosecutor’s office closed criminal proceedings against former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaly Kaskiv.
About it reported in a press-service of Prosecutor’s office of Kyiv.
“Kiev local Prosecutor’s office No. 6 of closed criminal proceedings on suspicion of the former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaly Kaskiv committing fraud and use of forged document during the implementation of the privatization of housing in the city of Kiev”, – stated in the message.
It is noted that the pre-trial investigation in the specified criminal proceedings were carried out by investigative Department of Pechersky police Department GU NP in Kiev.
By results of studying of materials of criminal proceedings the Prosecutor’s office established that on the pre-trial investigation produced sufficient evidence to prove the guilt of Vitaly Kaskiv in court, and proven violations are de minimis for attraction it to criminal liability.
“In this regard, the procedural head – the Prosecutor of the Kiev local Prosecutor’s office No. 6, the decision on termination of proceedings according to V. Kaskiv on the basis of paragraph 3 of part 1 of article 284 of the CPC of Ukraine”, – added in Prosecutor’s office.
Currently, the legality of the decision about closing of criminal proceedings is verified by the Kyiv Prosecutor’s office.

On 14 April the court rejected the application of the GPU of the arrest of former Deputy Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin Vitaly Kaskiv.
At the same time, the National anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine has not found crime structure in the criminal case of the GPU for housing Kaskiv.
Kaskiv also handed a summons for questioning in the case on claims of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych to the European court against Ukraine, and also concerning the investigation of crimes on the Maidan.
