In Ukraine have changed the standards of energy consumption. How will this affect the wallets of consumers
The Cabinet has reduced the social norms of energy consumption and bring them closer to their actual performance, not to overpay billions for subsidies. Because the overpayment for last heating season amounted to 14.5 billion UAH.
New regulations will take effect from may 1, 2017. The current size of subsidies is not affected, but in the next heating season will decrease and they will become less. Also, the subsidy will affect the size of the income. In particular, from January 1 raised the minimum wage in two times – up to 3,2 thousand UAH, that will “weed out” a lot of grantees in the next season.
Best new regulations will be for consumers that have no counters. They will pay less.

Social standards of consumption of energy resources, which will be effective from may 1, 2017:
– consumption of thermal energy for district heating (district heating) subscribers, homes which have household and/or apartment metering devices, – 0,0431 Gkal on 1 sq. m of heated area for a month during the heating season;
– electrical power consumption for individual heating of 51 kWh per 1 sq. m of heated area for a month during the heating season;
natural gas consumption for individual heating – 5,0 cubic m per 1 sq. m of heated area for a month during the heating season.
The government also revised correction factors for the calculation of the cost of electric energy, natural gas and other fuels for heating in multi-storey buildings.
