Parubiy filed a bill that obliges MPs to speak the Ukrainian language

The head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy has registered a draft law proposed to the deputies used exclusively in the Ukrainian language at the meetings of the Parliament, its committees and commissions.

The corresponding bill No. 6059 Wednesday, February 8, was published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, UNIAN reports.

The explanatory Memorandum States that the initiative is focused on maximum enforcement of the constitutional status of the state language in exercising legislative power.

The document States that the current legislation of Ukraine obliges to use the state language as the language of official communication officials and civil servants in the performance of their official duties.

It is assumed that, if necessary, the Verkhovna Rada will provide the Ukrainian translation of the speeches of foreign heads of States, heads of parliaments of foreign States, heads of diplomatic missions of foreign States, officials of foreign States and officials of international organizations.
