Sprouts understanding will be strengthened. Lavrov said that he was going to discuss with Tillerson Ukraine
Russia started cooperation with the administration of U.S. President Donald trump, as evidenced by a scheduled meeting with U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson.
This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov in interview to the Russian NTV channel.
“In the near future I will surely contact with the new Secretary of state USA Rex Tillerson, and of course, we will discuss the situation in the East of Ukraine, the implementation of the Minsk agreements and other important issues on the international agenda as well as the issues of our bilateral relations. I hope that it is not very sure about the germs of an understanding of what is actually happening in the East of Ukraine will be strengthened”, – he stressed.
Note that on February 16-17 Lavrov plans to take part in the meeting of foreign Ministers of the G20 in Bonn, which also will be attended by U.S. Secretary of state.
According to Lavrov, the Minsk package of measures has no alternative.
“The Europeans and I hope that the Americans confirm this. I say “hope” because while the American team, which will deal with the Ukraine is not formed”, – he added.
Separately, the Russian foreign Minister expressed confidence that the cooperation between Russia and the United States will be more intense once all parts of the administration who are engaged in foreign Affairs.
“We respect the position of any country and are always ready to sit down and discuss any approaches, even those that are absolutely contrary to ours”, – said Lavrov.
We will remind, earlier the head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia stated that the OSCE mission remains neutral because “it is no longer possible to “shield” the Ukrainian army and its battalions in the East. According to Lavrov, Ukraine “was zaangazowana itself on the public front.”
