IT industry and telecommunications occupy the third place in Ukraine for export – Kubiv

The industry of information and communication technologies, which includes the IT industry last year was in third place among other branches of export. In General, this sector is 3.4% of Ukraine’s GDP.

On this day, 16 February, in the Parliament during the hearings “a Digital agenda for modern Ukraine” said first Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of economic development and trade Stepan Kubiv.

“The most important part of digitization is the correct formulation of the problem. We need to understand where we are going. The industry of information and communication technology now forms a 3,4% of Ukraine’s GDP and ranks third in terms of exports. The economic effect of the proliferation of broadband Internet in Ukraine is estimated at 4-6 billion plus euros a year to GDP for every 10% new consumers. We are interested in bringing the latest technology together with the EU, is ready to participate in the testing of 5G, the preparation of the legislation for this,” – said Kubiv.
