The “road map” and safety: what will say Klimkin during a meeting in the “Normandy format”

The head of the Ukrainian foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin did not expect any breakthroughs from the designated Saturday meeting of foreign Ministers of “Norman Quartet”.

But the Ukrainian side there are proposals in the field of security. In particular, this applies to access of the OSCE SMM in the entire territory of Donbas, as well as to the border. Besides, the delegation intends to “consistently put pressure on the humanitarian dimension”.

The head of the Ukrainian diplomacy also plans to raise the issue of the road map, which was agreed during a visit to Berlin Petro Poroshenko last fall.

According to Klimkin, the Ukrainian side has a clear logic sequence of steps and guarantees that the Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov refused to discuss the previous meeting format.

Earlier, the representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that the holding of the meeting in the “Normandy format” on Ukraine at the level of heads of ministries of foreign Affairs is scheduled on February 18 in Munich.

In addition, the media reported that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will meet with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Saturday, February 18 in Munich on the sidelines of the security conference.
