Russia’s recognition of the documents ORDO contrary to the Minsk – Embassy of the United States
The Embassy of the United States believes that Russia’s recognition of the documents of the inhabitants of “DNR” and “LNR” contrary to the Minsk agreements.

Yesterday, February 18, the Russian Federation officially recognized passport, which is issued by the militants on the territory of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Later, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov explained that Russia recognized the “passport” and “documents” that give the militants “DND” and “LNB” in the Donbass, “purely humanitarian grounds”. They say that they could travel freely to Russia.
In turn the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, Minister of foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin and foreign Minister of Ukraine strongly condemned the actions of Russia regarding recognition of “documents” of the militants. Kiev sees this as an escalation of the conflict in the Donbass, the continuation of Russian aggression and violations of international law.
