The detention of Firtash not linked to the court’s decision on extradition the Prosecutor’s office of Vienna
Ukrainian businessman Dmitry Firtash was detained by police on a warrant which provided one of the European countries. About it reports Reuters with a reference to the speaker of the Prosecutor’s office of Vienna.
The detention occurred a few minutes after the court issued a decision that allows the extradition of Firtash in the USA.
The speaker noted that this detention is technically not associated with today’s court decision and is based on the request of Spain on the detention of Firtash.
About how the arrest will affect the decision on extradition, the Prosecutor’s office can not yet say.
