The NBU has threatened sanctions to the Ukrainian branch of the savings Bank after the recognition of passports “LDNR”
The National Bank of Ukraine reacted to the information about the readiness of the Russian savings Bank to provide services for individuals-holders of “passports” terrorist “DNR” and “LNR”.
This is stated in comments of the NBU.
“In the case of confirmation of this information, the NBU will initiate to the national security Council the question of the application of sanctions to subsidiary Bank Sberbank of Russia in Ukraine – PJSC “Sberbank”, – said the regulator.
The national Bank stresses that the decision to apply sanctions against individual entities are taken to the Council and are enacted by presidential decree.

“Ukrainian Union of patriots – DILL” for its part, urged the President to urgently convene the national security Council and defense of Ukraine to immediately impose sectoral sanctions against Russia in the banking sector, including the sanctions list of Sberbank and other Russian banks, a significant share of which belongs to the Russian Federation.
“We demand the presence at the meeting of the Chairman of the NBU Valeria Gontareva, with the consent of the Russian banks which I feel free in Ukraine and bring income to their leaders who put them into war with Ukraine,” – said in a statement.
The party noted that since the beginning of the Russian aggression against our country stood for the complete prohibition of activity on the territory of Ukraine of Russian companies, including banks. Representatives of the party registered in the Parliament a number of bills aimed at economic opposition to Russia.
We will remind, in Russia, Sberbank started to serve customers that as identity cards, use paper issued by the terrorists of “LNR” and “DNR” under the guise of “passports”.
