The last stage: Poroshenko welcomed the decision of the European Parliament Committee on the granting bezveza

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko welcomes the decision of the European Parliament Committee on the approval of visa liberalisation for Ukrainians.

The head of state wrote on his page in Facebook.

“Congratulations to a positive decision of the European Parliament Committee on civil liberties, justice and home Affairs regarding the introduction of a visa-free regime for Ukraine. Thank you to speaker Mary Gabriel and members of the Committee for the support of Ukraine and an objective assessment of reform efforts of the Ukrainian authorities with the proper implementation of the relevant criteria,” wrote Poroshenko.

According to Poroshenko, has left the last stage of parliamentary competencies – consideration of the decision on visa-free regime for Ukrainians at the plenary session of the European Parliament in early April.

“Instructed the foreign Ministry to strengthen the relevant work for the early adoption of the positive decision of the EP. After that, the last word in the process of visa liberalization for member States of the EU. I hope for the support of the European capitals of this long – awaited decision,” the President added.

We will remind, today, on March 9, the European Parliament Committee on civil liberties, justice and home Affairs (LIBE) finally adopted the draft legislative resolution on granting Ukraine a visa-free regime.

As noted, for a decision voted by 39 members of the Committee voted, 1 abstained, and 4 voted against.
