The Prosecutor’s office refused questioning Yanukovych in Russia

Prosecutors will not question deprived the title of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych on the territory of Russia.

This broadcast “112 Ukraine” was declared by the Prosecutor of the Chief military Prosecutor’s office Ruslan Kravchenko.

“The suspect Yanukovych should be in court and answer before the Ukrainian court. The only way. No interrogation in the presence of representatives of the GPU will not” – he said.

Ruslan Kravchenko said that the suspected Yanukovych enters the bodies of preliminary investigation and trial outside of Ukraine, on the territory of the Russian Federation. The Prosecutor added that the Russian court had to interrogate the ex-President of Ukraine four months ago.

“He is a suspect, and according to the decision of the investigating judge needs to be arrested and taken to court. Russia declares that she is ready to interrogate a suspect Yanukovych. She did not report it [needs], and to do it four months ago. If you are ready, let them query”, – said the Prosecutor.

Kravchenko added that Ukrainian law enforcement in Russia do not have the right to depose Yanukovych. It can only be done by Russian law enforcement agencies, and representatives of the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s office can only be present during such questioning.

We will remind, the state office of public Prosecutor of the Russian Federation expressed readiness to organize the interrogation of former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych on the territory of Russia in the presence of Ukrainian investigators.

Earlier , Yanukovych said that had a number of questions to the GPU is relatively open against him of high treason. Yanukovych said that is not properly received suspicion of treason, and therefore asked not to consider himself a suspect. This is stated in the letter by the former President to the Pechersk court on January 18.

Suspicion Yanukovych has declared the public Prosecutor of Ukraine Yury Lutsenko during video interrogation of a former head of state. Note that the main argument of the prosecution was a letter from Yanukovych to Putin asking for military support.
