The representative of Ukraine to the IMF explained why he postponed the disbursement of a tranche

The transfer consideration of a question on allocation to Ukraine the fourth tranche under the program of the eff the EFF is that the IMF needs more time to assess the impact of recent events in Ukraine, conditions and parameters of the program.

This was announced on his page in Facebook Deputy Executive Director from Ukraine to the International monetary Fund Vladyslav Rashkovan.

“The fact that staff (IMF staff) prepared this report in a timely manner and in advance, the report was provided to the members of the Board of Directors. We did consider at the time. But it was actually before the recent events. I’m sure that the NBU and the Finance Ministry will reveal the numbers, and the impact of recent events on the performance, and we would quickly return to consideration”, – said Rashkovan.

According to him, the Ukrainian side will be able to quickly overestimate the macroeconomic forecast to allocate Ukraine tranche and as quickly it will consider the Fund’s Board of Directors.

“I hope that the NBU and the Ministry of Finance will be able in a few days to provide the necessary microrocket, and we on the Board (the Board of Executive Directors of the IMF – approx.ed.) will be able to quickly revert to the issue of allocation of funds to Ukraine”, – he wrote.

Recall the question of the third review of the eff the EFF for Ukraine disappeared from the agenda of the Board of Directors of the International monetary Fund, to be held March 20.

“The postponement of the meeting due solely to the need to clarify expectations about the economic repercussions of measures taken by Ukraine in response to the blockade, and the seizure of Ukrainian enterprises not controlled by the government of the territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, and also in connection with the recognition by the Russian side of the documents issued in these areas,” — said the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance.

Meanwhile, the date of the meeting of the Board of Directors of the International monetary Fund regarding the allocation of the next tranche of Ukraine has not yet been determined.

In turn, Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman called the deferral of IMF of a question on Ukraine tranche “a personal challenge”.
