Groisman flew to the scene of the fire at the ammunition depot in Kharkiv
Today, March 23, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman flew to Kharkiv region, where the territory of a military warehouse of the Ministry of defence there were explosions of ammunition. About it reports a press-service of the Cabinet.
“The Prime Minister is in constant communication with the military leadership of the State service for emergency situations, the leadership of the Kharkiv regional state administration, who coordinate activities for emergency response and evacuation of inhabitants of nearby settlements”, – stated in the message.
We will remind, in the night of Thursday, March 23, about three o’clock in Balakleya, Kharkiv region, an explosion occurred on one of the largest ammunition depots. Information about this appeared first in social networks and subsequently confirmed its power.
Carried out the evacuation of residents from a 5-kilometer zone around the military warehouses. In the district house of culture and school was opened on 2 evacuation center. People evacuated by buses. On the scene left the Commission, headed by Deputy Minister of defence of Ukraine the General-Lieutenant Igor Pavlovsky, officers of the defense Ministry and the General staff of the armed forces of Ukraine.
The chief military Prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoliy Matios said that the fire in military warehouses in Balakleya in Kharkiv region has occurred because of sabotage. Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak reported that the previously considered two reasons for the fire – to undermine and attack drones.
