The Kremlin said that the prohibition of entry Samoilova has the prestige of “Eurovision”

The decision of the SBU on the prohibition of entry for women from Russia Yulia Samoilova “Eurovision” devalues the competition, but the Kremlin hopes that the Russian party will still be able to participate, said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, reports RIA Novosti.

According to him, Russia in the contest should represent the singer Yulia Samoilova with her song about love.

“Certainly, the decision of the Ukrainian side seriously devalues the upcoming competition, I guess, this is a blow to the prestige of “Eurovision”. We know that representatives of “Eurovision” has expressed a regret in connection with this decision. We also believe this decision is extremely unfortunate, and, in fact, we would certainly expect that the decision to contest will be reviewed, and the Russian participant will be able to participate in this competition”, — said Peskov.

Answering the question about the possibility of Russia to refuse from participation in the contest, Peskov said that the decision not to let Samoylova was taken by Kiev, not by the organizers of “Eurovision”. He also added that the current situation undermines the credibility of the competition.

“Well, as for the Ukrainian side, I repeat, the solution from our point of view is absolutely unfair, it’s unfortunate, and we hope that it will be revised,” he added.

We will remind, on March 22, the SBU has banned entry to Ukraine the Russian participant of “Eurovision” Yulia Samoilova for 3 years.

“The security service of Ukraine forbade entrance on the territory of Ukraine the citizen of the Russian Federation Yulia Samoilova for a period of three years. The decision was made on the basis of the data on violation of legislation of Ukraine”, – said the speaker of the SBU Elena Gitlyanskaya.
