Media professionals and civil activists may be required to submit an e-Declaration

During a meeting of deputies of Committee on questions of prevention and counteraction of corruption of parliamentarians proposed the adoption of the amendment to the law, which obliges media professionals and civil society activists to submit electronic declarations. Reportedly, this decision MPs voted on Wednesday March 22.

It is noted that during the Committee meeting the deputies were constantly misunderstanding, as the deputies themselves often didn’t understand what to vote.

So, after a vote the amendment of the declarations of the media, the MP from the faction of the BPP Andrey Nemirovsky noted: “I want to make a remark to the amendment we voted until about mass media”.

In turn, the head of the Committee Yehor Soboliev said, “Yes, you voted for the media and your vote was decisive”. Later on his page on Facebook he wrote that these decisions “kleptocracy” is “trying to ruin created by us anti-corruption legislation”.

We will remind, earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko suggested the Verkhovna Rada to abolish the requirement for the submission of electronic Declaration mobilized the military and contractors in connection with the necessity of their presence in the places of service. The next day the idea was supported by deputies of the Verkhovna Rada.
