Groisman advocated the abolition of the license fee for gas
Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman has initiated a review of implemented from 1 April monthly fee for gas for the population. This is stated in a video released by visit of the head of the government in social networks.
The official explained that specifically investigated the relevant decision of the National Commission carrying out regulation in the sphere of energy and utilities, and its consequences for consumers. And came to the conclusion that a split of the tariff for payment for the consumed gas and the monthly fee for the existence of the networks significantly increases the costs of ordinary Ukrainians. According to Groysman, it is not valid. “I have just completed a meeting on this issue. The increase really is, and averages in calculations from 1.3 to 3 times. This is especially true of those who live in apartment buildings”, – he explained.
According to the Prime Minister, the Cabinet categorically does not support such decisions and to initiate its repeal. “I just had a conversation with a representative of the Commission, which found that the monthly fee from 1 April. While the national Commission on energy and not subject to the government and the Prime Minister, but on Monday I will send a formal appeal. Require that this decision was revised,” – said Groisman and added that this is a principled position.
A new method of calculating the cost of gas was adopted on March 28. The innovation has already attracted criticism from experts and have found absurd examples of calculating tariffs, which differ several times, to neighboring villages with the same infrastructure. Also voiced the idea that the profit from the increase in feesthat will total an additional almost 8 billion hryvnias a year will not go to the budget of the country and into the pockets of oligarchs who are owners of regional gas companies.
