In the footsteps of Shokin. The controversial former Prosecutor General Oleh Makhnitskyi wants to sue Poroshenko

The controversial former head of the Prosecutor General Oleg Makhnitsky plans to file a lawsuit for wrongful dismissal from that position in 2014.

He declared it on air of TV channel “112-Ukraine”.

“The defendants are persons involved in the dismissal process. That the President and the Verkhovna Rada, is the same as Shokin, the same hand, the same judicial body. I will make a decision next week… right Now my only hindrance is the renewal of the Statute of limitations, and the question I must justify, and I think the position I’m taking over this week”, – he stressed.

According to Makhnitsky, he does not plan to return to the post and trying to prove that the decision on his dismissal was unlawful because “the President was afraid to bring this issue to Parliament”.

“Under the present circumstances, facts and guidance, I would not go to this office, did not return. But let’s see what will happen next, how much time will be considered a claim and what will be the socio-political circumstances in the state, and I will make the decision,” he added.

Separately, the ex-Prosecutor also noted that he wants to compare, as will be seen his action and ex-Prosecutor General Viktor Shokina.

“…To take two similar situations, especially since I have much more reason than Shokina, to see how we will be settled in a judicial order such questions. Want to justify or to test our justice”, – summed up Oleh Makhnitskyi.

We will remind, Makhnitsky-acting General Prosecutor of Ukraine from 24 February to 18 June 2014 and was dismissed by the decree of the President of Ukraine.

Note, the former General Prosecutor of Ukraine Viktor Shokin trying through the courts to recover the position. The claim he filed to the Supreme administrative court.

It is noted that the claim was March 13, 2017, evidenced by the statement on the website of the court. The matter should be considered by the panel of judges, the presiding judge – Valentin Moroz.
