Latvia became the fourth country in the EU, which is documented condemned the aggression of Russia against Ukraine

Latvia became the fourth EU member state that in an official document condemned the Russian aggression against Ukraine in the Donbas. Ukraine highly appreciates the political support and practical assistance provided by the country to counter Russian aggression, the statement of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the head of the Republic of Latvia Raimonds Vejonis on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between States.

“Being faithful to a political and diplomatic settlement of the situation in Donbas caused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine, both countries claim the need for strict implementation by the Russian Federation of its obligations under international law and restore respect for his universally recognized principles,” the statement reads.

In Latvia said that they will continue to actively support Ukraine’s course towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Today, Petro Poroshenko had official talks with the President of Latvia Raimonds Vejonis in Riga.
