Poroshenko predicts more aggressive actions of the Kremlin with the approach of presidential elections

President Petro Poroshenko predicts that the Kremlin is getting more aggressive with the approaching presidential elections in Russia in 2018.

He said this during a speech at the 10th forum bezopasnosti Kiev, UNIAN reports.

“The Kremlin is preparing for presidential elections in 2018. Becomes more aggressive, to hide their weakness,” – said Poroshenko.

According to him, Russia is actively spreading fake information and propaganda.

“The Kremlin is breaking our values to spread your agenda. He uses his modern “relay tower” under the guise of freedom of speech to spread its blatant propaganda,” he said.

Poroshenko stressed that Russia “maintains the electoral procedure for infecting the very heart of European democracy”.

“The Kremlin sees territorial expansion as a noble moral and historical purpose. With the occupation of Crimea and Donbas “inhabited island” of repression and lawlessness is spreading beyond its limits”, he added.
