Tillerson’s visit to Moscow has shown that Russia cannot be trusted — Klimkin

Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said that the visit of U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson in Moscow has shown that Russia can’t cooperate and speak on the basis of trust.

This Klimkin said on Thursday, April 13, commenting on the results of the meeting U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson with the foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov on April 12 in Moscow, transfer Ukrainian news.

“Tillerson’s visit is a step in establishing how we can work together to put pressure on Russia so she has started to act according to the logic having to leave the Donbass”, — said the head of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry.

Klimkin added that during the meeting “Ukraine – NATO” States has assured Ukraine that they will always act with the support of the Ukrainian state and the sanctions imposed because of the occupation of the Donbass, remains in force until the implementation of the Minsk agreements in full.

“I think his visit is very clearly demonstrated… our joint thesis with Russia can neither cooperate nor talk on the basis of trust. During the visit by far was confirmed, by the way, what I said Tillerson at the meeting of the foreign Ministers of the G7: “We are ready to do more for Ukraine. Everyone who sits at this table, too, needs to do more. And this is very important,” — said Klimkin.

We will remind, on April 11, U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson first arrived in Moscow on an official visit. On 12 April he held talks with Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The Kremlin said that the Ukrainian issue was discussed during a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. Secretary Rex Tillerson, although not in detail.
