Moldova will become an observer in EurAsEC

The presidents of the countries of the Eurasian economic Union (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia) agreed to provide Moldova with the status of observer.

This was announced by President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian economic Council in Bishkek, reports UNIAN.

“We looked in the narrow circle of the appeal of the Republic of Moldova on granting the status of observer in the Eurasian economic Union. And the Supreme Eurasian economic Union in the narrow circle decided to welcome and support the intention of the Republic of Moldova on the status of observer in the Eurasian economic Union,” said Atambayev.

The meeting was attended by the heads of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan. In particular, Vladimir Putin, Alexander Lukashenko, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Serzh Sargsyan and Almazbek Atambayev.

Also in the meeting participated the President of Moldova Igor Dodon.

Earlier, Igor Dodon, signed a Memorandum of cooperation with the Eurasian economic Commission. The document was signed within the framework of the International forum “Eurasian economic Union – Republic of Moldova”, which started today in Chisinau.

In turn, the Prime Minister-the Minister Pavel Filip said at a press conference that a Memorandum of cooperation with the Eurasian economic Union has no legal force.

Earlier, Igor Dodon, during talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his desire to terminate the Agreement on Association of Moldova with the European Union. He believes that any results neither in economy, nor in the other sectors, the transaction is not given.
