The ex-Minister of economic development Abromavicius found a new job in Ukraine

Former Minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine aivaras Abromavicius headed the Supervisory Board established in March the public organization “Ukrainian Academy of corporate governance”.

The Supervisory Board also included the permanent representative of the International monetary Fund in Ukraine Jerome Vacher, managing Director of the European Bank for reconstruction and development in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Francis Malige, the head of the International Finance Corporation in Ukraine Elena Voloshin and others. “It will be a commercial project, which will support international financial institutions. The challenge is to educate people in both the private and public sector corporate governance. The founders and members of the Supervisory Board of the Academy – the people who stood at the origins of corporate governance in Ukraine”, – explained the principles of formation of the Supervisory Board Abromavicius.

The activities of the Academy will begin with the specialized conference, which is tentatively scheduled for June of this year. After that, the Academy will begin training, attracting the best trainers in Europe in this field. In addition to the educational component, the Academy also aims at development networking (creating the environment and trust) and the policy in the sphere of corporate governance in Ukraine. Also plan to participate in the development of legislative and normative acts in this sphere.

We will remind, eks-Minister of Finance Natalia Yaresko was appointed Executive Director of the Council’s financial management and control. The incumbent will contribute to debt restructuring and restoration of financial stability of Puerto Rico. And he plans to use the experience gained in Ukraine.
