Artemenko commented on the possible deprivation of his citizenship
MP Andrew Artemenko has not confirmed the information about the deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship, however, assured that in the case of the signing by President Petro Poroshenko of such a decree would be to challenge it.
He said this in comments to the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
“The main question is whether the President signed this decree or not, violated the Constitution or not. Since the Constitution of Ukraine stipulates that a citizen may terminate the citizenship of Ukraine only on their own. I know nothing about this decree and to clarify this information, because we understand that the information went from Oleg Lyashko, I filed a formal parliamentary request to the presidential Administration to understand the official position of the President”, – he stressed.
According to Artemenko, if confirmed, he intends to appeal the decree.
“If President Poroshenko made it, will respond accordingly. If no such policy as Oleg Lyashko should be judged. Of course, my appeal and my lawyers, we will challenge this issue. However, I’m actually convinced that there is no”, – said the MP, noting that the decision on deprivation of the citizenship of Ukraine for allegedly having a second citizenship – Canada, is unfounded, because he annulled a canadian passport in 2014.
In addition Artemenko denied the words of the leader of the Radical party, Oleg Lyashko, who said that the MP flew to Vienna.
“I am not in Vienna, and in Washington, will represent our initiative, which we’ve been doing lately – looking for new opportunities or the continuation of the Minsk process, or find other venues in which to seek consensus, in fact, the Ukrainian-Russian war. In the days that followed the administration of new US President will give an answer, what vision it has for Ukraine”, – summed up Artemenko.
We will remind, earlier the Prosecutor General’s office initiated the deprivation of citizenship of Ukraine, the scandalous Deputy Artemenko. The Deputy who wanted to “take” Crimea is leased to Russia, has dual citizenship.
Later people’s Deputy Oleg Lyashko wrote in Facebook that President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree on the termination of citizenship of Ukraine Andrey Artemenko because he in 2005 received the citizenship of Canada.
Note, the week before Michael Flynn resigned from the post of adviser to the President on national security, his office was delivered a package of proposals about how the head of the White house Donald trump could lift sanctions against Russia. In this “peace plan” proposed to take the Crimea is leased by Russia. According to the publication, in the drafting of the document took part the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrey Artemenko member of the faction of the Radical party. In the plan, in particular, contain requirements on the withdrawal of Russian troops from Eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian voters also proposed a referendum to decide, be handed over to Russia the Crimea in rent for 50 or 100 years. Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly said that the Ukrainian people’s Deputy Andriy Artemenko not authorized to represent any alternative peace plans , on behalf of Ukraine.
