The European Parliament supported the decision on the granting of trade benefits to Ukraine

Today, July 4, the European Parliament voted the proposal of the European Commission to provide Ukraine with additional trade preferences.

Voted for the decision 566 MEPs, against 96, UNIAN reports. European politicians agreed on a compromise reached in the framework of inter-institutional negotiations of the EU Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission.

Now the final decision must be approved by the Council of the European Union.

Under the new arrangements, quotas for tomatoes, wheat, corn, and honey from Ukraine will be increased, but not to the extent as earlier proposed by the European Commission. Preferences to enter on a period of three years, as a Supplement to the Agreement on the establishment of deep and comprehensive free trade area.
