The interlocutors discussed the situation in the Donbas and coordinated positions regarding the implementation of the Minsk agreements during the preparations for the G20 summit in Hamburg and, in particular, the leaders of Germany and France with the President of Russia. Angela Merkel has assured Petro Poroshenko, during a meeting about the fate of Ukraine without Ukraine will not be solved.
The leaders of Ukraine and Germany stressed the priority of meeting the key requirements of security of the Minsk agreements. They expressed concern over the continuing violation of the Russian militants of the ceasefire.
Poroshenko stressed the importance of liberation of the Ukrainian hostages who are in captivity and militants in Russia. State leaders concerned about threats to the security of the OSCE observers from the Russian militants, and attempted to significantly limit their activities in the Donbas.
