In Kiev the day of the visit of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg held a meeting of the Council of national security and defense, during which heads of state made a number of important decisions:

Biometric control mechanism and pre-registration for Russian citizens

Ukraine will introduce a mechanism of pre-registration for Russian citizens who want to enter the territory of the country. This was stated by the NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov.

“Creates a corresponding technical infrastructure at all points of crossing the state border, which should start operating no later than early next year. For Russian citizens will be implemented electronic system of pre-registration”, – said Turchinov.

Also Ukraine will introduce biometric controls for citizens of other countrieswho cross the Ukrainian border. The corresponding decision was made at the meeting of the Council on 10 July, said the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

“We are talking about strengthening of control of entry, exit and stay of citizens of other States on the territory of Ukraine. We are introducing biometric control for all citizens who cross the Ukrainian border. We should remove all biometric data, including fingerprints and a digital photograph. This will greatly enhance the possibilities to combat terrorism,” – said the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

New factory ammunition and housing for the contract

Funds from the fulfillment of the State budget will be directed on strengthening of defence and security, including the construction of a new plant. This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. According to him, production is carried out according to the standards of the Alliance. “I made a proposal for the construction of munitions plants, introduction of new technologies in full compliance with NATO standards, which will ensure the compatibility of the ammunition produced with the main caliber”, – said Poroshenko. Garant said that the realization of this task it is planned to allocate 1 billion 400 million UAH.

Also, the President Poroshenko made a proposal to allocate 1 billion UAH for the creation of comfortable living conditions for contract servicemen.

The President stressed the need to ensure the permanent stationing of the brigades of the normal placement conditions for the contract.

“We now have over 90 million contract signed contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We have 100% soldiers who are in the ATO area on a contract basis. To return to the places of permanent deployment we must provide them with comfortable housing. It will not be barracks and housing for the contract,” – said Petro Poroshenko.

The funds for “defense” out of the money Yanukovych

The national security Council and defense of Ukraine recommends to spend 6 billion confiscated from former officials of the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych on government security and defense. This was stated by Secretary Alexander Turchinov.

“The decision on the beginning of financing of the state budget at the expense of confiscated financial resources,” he said. “Of these funds under the special Fund budget is proposed to Fund the security sector and defense by 6 billion UAH”, – said Turchinov.

Cooperation with NATO

One of the priorities of Ukraine’s cooperation with NATO is to counter cybercrime.
