Poroshenko brought into effect the NSDC decision on increase in financing of national security and defense
President Petro Poroshenko enacted the decision of the Council of national security and defence on additional finansirovaniem needs of national security and defense in 2017.
The relevant decree is published on the website of the President.
“To enact the decision of national security Council and defense of Ukraine of July 10, 2017 “On urgent measures for the funding of national security and defense of Ukraine in 2017”, – the document says.
As noted, control over the implementation of this decision is entrusted to the Secretary of the NSDC Oleksandr Turchynov.
According to the NSDC, the government is mandated to submit to Parliament a proposal to increase to 9.5 billion UAH, the General Fund of the state budget for 2017 on security and defense. In particular, the 1 billion they want to spend on the purchase of arms and military equipment, the 1.4 billion – for the purchase and manufacture of ammunition, another 1 billion for construction of housing for servicemen, as well as about 600 million UAH for modern weapons and military equipment.
Note that the money for the additional financing, the national security Council plan to take from the General Fund and from special Fund of the state budget for the confiscated assets for the offenses.
We will remind, earlier the Deputy Minister of defense of Ukraine Ivan Rusnak reported to increase in 2018, the funding of the defense sector at 10 billion hryvnia. In Department expect that next year’s defence budget of Ukraine will amount to 74 billion, and this will allow us to meet the needs of the APU and to reform the defense sector.
