The long-awaited solution. The EU Council finally approved the Association agreement with Ukraine
The EU Council did one last formality, and finally ratified the Association agreement with Ukraine.
As the correspondent of TSN, in Brussels the Ministers of Finance and economy of the EU, who came to the summit, put their signatures under the document.
The EU expects that the full Agreement would come in force from September 1, three years, as Ukraine became the associate member of the European Union. The Association will promote the integration of Ukrainian economy into the European market, but Ukraine will open its borders to European goods gradually.

“The Association agreement was one of the key requirements and expectations of the Euromaidan. And I’m glad we’re together, by joint efforts can achieve. The Kremlin, which mobilized all their resources against the Association Agreement, cynically violated international law, started aggression against Ukraine, suffered another defeat. I am convinced that we will win. Ukraine is sure to be in the family of European Nations and the EU and NATO”, – said the head of state.

Earlier, all countries-EU members have already ratified the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. After that the Netherlands handed over the ratification documents to the EU, and subsequently the green light of Association with Ukraine gave the EU ambassadors.
