“Naftogaz of Ukraine” will require in the Stockholm arbitration from the Russian “Gazprom” 5 billion dollars. This applies to claims under the transit contract.

“Under the transit contract, we are waiting for the decision on our claims. At “Gazprom” there is also a suit, but a very small amount ($7 million). Our claim is more than $ 13 billion, it is those who have put, and we have put more than $ 5 billion,” he said.

Vitrenko said that the decision of the Stockholm arbitration in that case is expected before December of this year. According to him, the verdict of the Swedish court is of great importance for Ukraine.
In addition, according to Vitrenko, even if in the future “Gazprom” will completely abandon the transportation of gas via Ukraine, the gas transport system can be used to export gas of the Ukrainian production.
