Klitschko invited journalists of The Economist, included Kyiv in the ten worst cities in the world
The mayor of Kiev Vitaly Klitschko wrote a letter to the dimension of the influential publication The Economist John Copestake, which made the Ukrainian capital on the 131th place out of 140 of the best cities in the world.
It is reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in the UK.
Klitschko said that he is very respected British newspaper and read it with great pleasure for the interesting article. However, the mayor expressed the view that analysts that put Kiev on a low level, just never been here.
“Kiev is changing, is changing and going forward.” Klitschko commented on the sensational stars, the Economist
“Sorry, I was under the impression that you were never in our incredible European city, which annually hosts numerous international events at the highest level: two of the song contest “Eurovision” in 2005 and 2017 years, the European championship in 2012, many international and European sports Championships, not to mention the millions of tourists who annually visit Kiev”, – wrote Klitschko.
He invited Copstache in the Ukrainian capital and pledged to personally give him a tour.
Recall, Kiev was in the top ten least liveable cities in the world by The Economist. The capital of Ukraine was on the 131st place out of 140. Worse Kiev’s ranking of Douala (Cameroon), Harare (Zimbabwe), Karachi (Pakistan), Algiers (Algeria), Port Moresby (PNG), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Tripoli (Libya) Lagos (Nigeria) and Damascus (Syria).
The article caused a wide resonance among Ukrainian officials. So, foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin called unfair the inclusion of the capital of Ukraine in the top ten worst cities to live in.
