NBU presented a mobile app to recognize real from fake hryvnia
On August 31 the national Bank of Ukraine presented its first mobile application, which has received the name “Ukrainian hryvnia”.
This is stated in the press service of the NBU.
App helps to learn about more than 20 security features of the updated series of the NBU.
“In interactive form here we have included security features with a simulated view of the banknote against the light, played a kinematic effect, elements, tactile, images and inscriptions that can be seen with a magnifying glass,” – said the Director of information technologies Department of the NBU Vladimir nagornyuk.
He also noted that the app contains video reviews of the updated banknotes of 100 and 500 hryvnia for detailed study.

Download the mobile app “Ukrainian hryvnia” in App Store or Google Play. Also it will be available for download on the website of the NBU. The application download free. Soon the national Bank of Ukraine plans to introduce the English version of the mobile application.
Recall that in the period 2016 to print new Bank notes of different denominations hryvnia, the national Bank spent UAH 1.3 bn. To reduce these losses, the regulator takes measures for reduction of cash in circulation and the transition to cashless payments.
