According to the representative of the Kremlin, this would contradict the Minsk agreements.
“The essence of the Russian proposal, the Russian initiative is that the UN mission could ensure the safety of employees of the OSCE mission in those places where the staff of the OSCE mission serve”, – said Peskov. He noted that “the main way they perform their functions on the boundary line”.
On the question of what the mandate of the OSCE mission contains the opportunity to visit different areas of Ukraine, and therefore the border with Russia, Peskov said: “Yes, of course. We are talking about ensuring the safety of OSCE mission members where they are engaged. But we are not talking about the placement of the UN mission on the border”.
“The fact that any missions on the border is clearly spelled out in the Minsk agreements, it (the deployment of security for the UN mission on the Russian-Ukrainian border – ed.) would run counter to the Minsk agreements”, – said Peskov.

We will remind, earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko appealed to the UN initiative to deploy a peacekeeping mission in the Donbas. The Ukrainian side insists that the peacekeepers should be present throughout the occupied territory of Donbas, including Ukrainian-Russian state border.
