The Kremlin has not changed its requirements regarding the deployment of peacekeepers in the Donbass
The UN peacekeeping mission in Ukraine could ensure security for OSCE mission members, but we are not talking about its location on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
This was reported by press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, TASS.
Poroshenko explained why we need peacekeepers in the Donbass
According to the representative of the Kremlin, this would contradict the Minsk agreements.
“The essence of the Russian proposal, the Russian initiative is that the UN mission could ensure the safety of employees of the OSCE mission in those places where the staff of the OSCE mission serve”, – said Peskov. He noted that “the main way they perform their functions on the boundary line”.
On the question of what the mandate of the OSCE mission contains the opportunity to visit different areas of Ukraine, and therefore the border with Russia, Peskov said: “Yes, of course. We are talking about ensuring the safety of OSCE mission members where they are engaged. But we are not talking about the placement of the UN mission on the border”.
“The fact that any missions on the border is clearly spelled out in the Minsk agreements, it (the deployment of security for the UN mission on the Russian-Ukrainian border – ed.) would run counter to the Minsk agreements”, – said Peskov.
Threats and ridiculous comparison. In Russia hysteria took the bill to the state aggressor
The representative of the Kremlin has insisted that Kiev should negotiate with the terrorists who control some areas of Donbass: “it is Important that any modality of work of some of the missions are to be agreed between the parties to the conflict, namely, between Kiev and the breakaway republics of Donbass”.
We will remind, earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko appealed to the UN initiative to deploy a peacekeeping mission in the Donbas. The Ukrainian side insists that the peacekeepers should be present throughout the occupied territory of Donbas, including Ukrainian-Russian state border.

Putin agreed on the deployment of peacekeepers throughout the territory of Donbass. The Russian President held a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel. It is noted that during the conversation he discussed the Russian initiative on the establishment of the UN mission to promote the protection of the special monitoring mission of the OSCE.
