Today, October 4, in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine submitted a draft Law “On creating the necessary conditions for peaceful settlement of the situation in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions”.

The initiator of the bill is the President of Petro Poroshenko. In particular, it is proposed to make changes to Article 1 of the law of Ukraine “On special order of local government in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions”.
“Article 1. According to this Law temporarily for a period expiring one year from the date of entry into force of the Law of Ukraine “On creation of necessary conditions for peaceful settlement of the situation in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions” is a special procedure of local self-government in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, which include districts, cities, towns, villages, which are determined by the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (hereinafter – the separate districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions)”, – stated in the explanatory Memorandum.
The bill will allow to create necessary conditions for the deployment in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine in the UN peacekeeping operation and to maintain the international sanctions regime.
