The foreign Ministry of Ukraine responded to the desire of Poland to close the borders to “people with anti-Polish sentiment”

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine assures that the majority of Ukrainians have a positive attitude to Poland and Ukraine has no anti-Polish sentiment.

So the office has responded to the statements of Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski.

“I would like to emphasize that Ukraine has no anti-Polish sentiments, the majority of Ukrainians have a positive attitude to Poland, despite the differences in the estimates of complex historical past. In Ukrainian society there is a clear understanding of the need to further strengthen cooperation with Poland in the interests of the two peoples and of the whole Europe”, – is spoken in the comment of the MFA of Ukraine.

In Kiev believe that confirmation of the positive attitude towards the neighboring country are hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who now live in Poland.

“At the time, together with Poland, we reached an understanding that historical reconciliation is possible according to European Christian principle of “Forgive and ask forgiveness”. We are convinced that we must go to reconciliation through the mutual perception of each other and not impose their point of view” – say the Agency.

The foreign Ministry of Ukraine said that Kiev has offered Warsaw to bring this principle into practice by signing and implementing the road map, but received no response.

“Ukraine is open to cooperation, including in the historical perspective. Sure that we are mutually interested in it, understanding the mutual importance of the Ukrainian-Polish strategic partnership,” – said in comments.

We will remind, earlier the head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski said that the authorities want to run the procedure which made it impossible for the border crossing people, who profess to be anti-Polish views, in particular support the idea of the SS Galicia and wear her uniforms.
