During the week the police of the Donetsk region has declared 10 suspected militants. Among the detainees – the tank commander of the “army of DNR”, the representative of the “Cossack” bands and an accomplice of the terrorists who participated in the seizure of enterprises in Bakhmut.

All ten militants declared suspicion under part 2 of article 260 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (creation is not stipulated by the law of armed formations or participation in their activities). The sanction of article prescribes punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term up to 8 years.

The police recalled that the members of illegal armed groups have the legal ability to exempt from criminal liability, provided they didn’t commit serious crimes and voluntarily resigned from the ranks of the militants. Overall in 2017 by the police of the Donetsk region exposed more than 300 militants. Of these, 240 were detained, 61 – installed and wanted.
