“Contrary to common sense”. Saakashvili responded to the Georgian court’s verdict against him

The ex-President of Georgia, former head of Odessa administration , Mikheil Saakashvili called the Georgian court’s verdict against him “completely illegal” and “contrary to all international, national standards and common sense”.

About this he wrote on his page in Facebook.

“Judge the President for the exercise of clemency (which I used in respect of 133 ex-servicemen), which is not restricted in any way, speaks of a completely political nature of the process. It also says that the Georgian authorities have not found me for 5 years, nothing substantial: no evidence of corruption or other offences,” he said.

According to Saakashvili, this sentence, as well as a parallel process in Kiev indicate that the oligarchic power in Ukraine and Georgia operate synchronously and in complete coordination with each other against him, as leader of the fight against corruption, oligarchy and plunder of the people.

We will remind, Tbilisi city court judge Giorgi Arevadze announced a decision on part of the charges against the ex-President of Georgia in the case of Sandro Girgvliani. The judge found Saakashvili guilty, and sentenced to imprisonment for 3 years. In the case of Sandro Girgvliani to Mikheil Saakashvili was charged under article “abuse of power”.
