The socialist party has expelled its “head” Ilya Kiva, and reported a hostile takeover attempt

The socialist party of Ukraine expelled from their ranks Ilya Kiva that in July of 2017 declared himself the leader of this political force.

The decision was adopted on 27 January unanimously during a joint meeting of the political Council and Central control Commission of the socialist party, UNIAN reports.

Petro Ustenko, who also calls himself the leader of the socialist party, said that the Council was convened in connection with “the attempt of raider capture of the party”.

According to him, several socialist and social democratic parties were preparing a large-scale Congress to unify into a single left block. But before Congress, justice Department officials allegedly falsified documents and “was thrown from the registry the entire leadership of the socialist party, headed by party leader Petro Ustenko” state in the socialist party.

The socialist leader noted that Kiva, after his election as Chairman of the socialist party, has not fulfilled any of its obligations.

“Kiva tried the raider way to capture the party and make it a tool of discord left field. It works against the political power, so his stay in the ranks of the socialist party is impossible,” – said Ustenko.

The socialist party urged the justice Department to February 1, “result register in accordance with applicable law and to restore the actual bodies in the leadership of the socialist party”.

SPU until 2012 was headed by Oleksandr Moroz, then he gave his powers to Pavel Ustenko. In 2014, the party members expressed Ustenko mistrust and elected their leader Mykola Rudkovsky, but next year he resigned. The next Chairman of the socialist party was elected Nikolay Sadovoy.

Note that the position of Chairman of the socialist party claims to be a member of the faction “BPP” in the Verkhovna Rada Sergey Kaplin. After the application of a Kiva on the election of the President of the socialists Kaplin stated that he was elected leader of the socialist party.
