The position of the United States and the Russian Federation on the Donbass coincide in some respects – the Kremlin

The views of Russia and the USA on issues the settlement of the situation in the occupied Donbas coincide in certain settings, announced on Monday, January 29, Putin’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, reports “RIA Novosti”.

“Surkov has already made a statement in which he said that for some parameters it is possible to notice a convergence of views. He said that we should perform a number of proposals, which were announced by the United States. Probably nothing more to add,” – said Peskov.

As previously reported, on Friday, January 26, the Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov held a meeting with the special representative of the US state Department in Ukraine with Kurt Volker, during which they discussed the settlement of the situation in the Donbass.

Later, the representative of the Russian Federation stated that a new version of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass looks possible. Therefore, Moscow will carefully study all proposals of the Washington and promptly answer.

At the same time, Kurt Volker believes that cooperation with the Russian Federation on the Donbass is very important because it “plays a key role in this conflict.”

After a meeting with the representative of the United States in Dubai the representative of the Kremlin Vladislav Surkov has declared literally the following: the current package of U.S. proposals look “usable”. According to Surkov, there is a detailed plan for the deployment of a peacekeeping mission, tied to implementation of the political provisions of the Minsk agreements.
