The IMF has denied reports about the Foundation’s work in Ukraine

The international monetary Fund did not agree with Ukraine the terms of its mission in Kiev to the possibility of granting the tranche in 2018. This was stated by Deputy head of the communications Department of the IMF William Murray, wrote UNIAN.

“I have no details about the mission of overhauling the program. The time of the visit of the mission was not yet defined”, – he answered a question about voiced by President Petro Poroshenko and other Ukrainian officials, February and April as a possible time for the emergence of the Fund in Kiev.

Murray also refuted a number of Ukrainian media about the alleged dismissal of the staff of the IMF in Ukraine and softening of position in relation to the emergence of the anti-corruption court. “First, there is no truth in the allegations about the softening of the IMF and the rumors about the resignation. Those rumors are false. Let me put it on the first plan,” he said. According to the official representative of the IMF, the creation in Ukraine of an anti-corruption court in accordance with the recommendations of the Venice Commission is an integral part of the programme of cooperation. “As for the anti-corruption court, we look forward to working with the authorities and international partners, to resolve concerns about the draft law on the anti-corruption court and to bring it into full conformity with the obligations of Ukraine under the program with IMF and the recommendations of the Venice Commission. As we noted earlier, the creation of an anti-corruption court in accordance with the requirements of the Venice Commission is an integral component of the IMF program with Ukraine”, – said Murray.
