“If the court finds that he has no right to political asylum in Ukraine, there will be several opportunities for him. The first is voluntary repatriation to any of the selected countries, for example, in the Netherlands, where his family lives… In the Netherlands reaffirmed their readiness to adopt it under the procedure of family reunification (Family Union). The second option – voluntary or forced deportation to one of the selected countries or country from which he illegally crossed the Ukrainian border – that is Poland. And extradition on the request of the General Prosecutor’s office of Georgia”, – he said.

Lutsenko recalled a recent meeting with the leadership of the Georgian Prosecutor’s office, which confirmed the desire to Saakashvili’s extradition.

“You need to pass several long court procedures. But we go, because Ukraine has signed the relevant international obligation, including to Georgia. Okay, I’ll say it. For me would be the last difficult decision. Because the extradition of Saakashvili in Georgia means its absolute conclusion,” he said.

“I’ll be honest, I really do not hotiv to send him to a Georgian prison,” the Prosecutor General added.
