International regulation of transactions with cryptocurrencies is inevitable – the head of the IMF

The head of the International monetary Fund Christine Lagarde in an interview with CNN Money stated that international regulation transactions with cryptocurrencies inevitably. She stressed that “this area definitely needs regulation”.

“We had a regulation organizations for the past ten years after the financial crisis, and now we need to move towards regulation of the operations to forget about organizations and work over operations,” said MS Lagarde.

According to her, in transactions with cryptocurrencies there are many “dark” moments, so the IMF is actively trying to prevent the use of digital currencies for money laundering or terrorist financing. She believes that regulators should focus on how and by whom the operations are conducted, their control, and they have the necessary license.
