Russian threat. What Poroshenko was talking with the ex-leaders of the countries of Baltic-black sea region

President Petro Poroshenko believes that Russia’s goal was not only Ukraine but the whole of the Baltic-black sea region as a whole.

The head of state said during a meeting with former leaders of the Baltic-black sea region. They gathered in Kyiv for a two-day forum “the joint security of the Baltic-black sea region as a consensus strategy for greater Europe”.

The forum, organized by the National Institute for strategic studies, Ukraine will present Leonid Kravchuk, Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yushchenko, Belarus Stanislau Shushkevich, Bulgaria Petar Stoyanov, Lithuania – Vytautas Landsbergis, Latvia – Valdis Zatlers, Moldova, Petru Lucinschi, Poland – Aleksander Kwasniewski. President of the forum is Gennady Burbulis.

Poroshenko said rigid and principled position of the leaders of the Baltic and the black sea region in support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Emphasized the importance of ensuring solidarity around the world with Ukraine and support our country.

Poroshenko spoke about the situation in the Donbas and noted the importance of continued sanctions against Russia until the complete fulfillment of the Minsk agreements.

The participants of the meeting discussed regional and global security and stressed the inadmissibility of violation of international law. They also consider it necessary to increase the efficiency of security mechanisms in the world and Europe, including under the UN Charter and policy documents of the OSCE.
