Ukraine has improved its corruption perceptions index for only one item – Transparency International
By year-end 2017 Ukraine ranked 130 out of 180 countries in the Transparency International study “the Index of perception of corruption“. It’s one point better than it was last year.
The Director of the National anti-corruption Bureau Artem Sytnik said that the pace of efficiency of fight against corruption in Ukraine can grow only under condition of creation of a Specialized anti-corruption court, which will provide the judgement and fair punishment for top corrupt officials.
“The anti-corruption Bureau was created in April of 2015, and in December of the same year, after the election of the head of the Specialized anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office, began its first investigation. Two years in the courts were more than 100 cases of NABU and SAP. However, unfortunately, these cases courts have not been studied. I am convinced that without the creation of an anti-corruption court which will be able to make fair decisions in cases of top corrupt officials, further fight against corruption is impossible,” – said Sytnik.

Meanwhile, the Transparency International experts to strengthen the fight against corruption in Ukraine also suggest as soon as possible to launch anti-corruption court to continue the judicial reform and to provide the right to Autonomous listening NABOO.
